Rumor: Nintendo Direct happening this month

Posted on July 14, 2025 by (@NE_Brian) in Rumors, Switch, Switch 2

Nintendo fans have been awaiting the next Direct presentation, and apparently, it could be happening very soon.

That claim comes from Nate the Hate, who shared what he knows on a podcast episode. He’s heard that there’s a Nintendo Direct happening in July, though it won’t air until Donkey Kong Bananza is released.

That would obviously rule out this week. And after that, you start running into just a few realistic possibilities. You can essentially rule out Mondays and Fridays given how we don’t tend to see Nintendo Directs on those days. Nate the Hate doesn’t have information about exact timing, but speculates that the last week of July is probable “because Friday of that week is August 1” and that’s when Nintendo is reporting its latest earnings.

A Nintendo Direct would help Switch 2 owners have a better idea about what’s planned for the rest of the year. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Kirby Air Riders, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, and Splatoon Raiders don’t have release dates. A presentation could also reveal new third-party games and confirm launch timing for titles like Elden Ring.

Still, nothing has been confirmed currently. It’s worth noting though that Nate the Hate has made some accurate claims in the past, including timing for the first Nintendo Switch 2 reveal.
