Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con design leaked
A new leak is making the rounds that may give us a look at the design for the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con.
A video with the shots was posted to the Chinese video sharing website Bilibili. We get a look at a few different things, including snapping off the Joy-Con (at the beginning here, which is blurred, making things hard to see) instead of the current sliding mechanism.
Here’s a look at the IR blaster on both Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con:
There’s also this image showing either a magnet release button or another trigger for horizontal play:
Here’s buttons/magnets:
And a blurred Joy-Con engineering drawing showing CMOS location:
Finally, a blurred engineering drawing of some part of the console:
Other than the above, it’s claimed that Nintendo wouldn’t have enough units on hand for a March 2025 launch. Of course, the company has never committed to that timeframe. Nintendo has only said it will be making an announcement about what’s coming next before the end of the fiscal year, which does end in March – but launch is another story.
Of course, nothing shown today has been confirmed at this time. It’s best to be skeptical until Nintendo makes an announcement.
Thanks to Bilibili and Resetera for the news above.
