Rumor: Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC leaker says new Switch coming alongside Indigo Disk
The Switch rumor mill is on fire again, as a leaker has come forward claiming that a new model will be released alongside the second DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet – otherwise known as The Indigo Disk.
That information stems from a 4chan user – which we would normally dismiss – but this person seems to have at least some insider knowledge. A post was made to the site last Friday, a few days before the new Pokemon Presents aired with the DLC reveal. This user, who says he’s a programmer working for an outsourcing company, ended up getting just about everything correct between rough names of the DLC, new Pokemon, and more.
The last line of the post is what’s most significant here. The user claims: “We are working on a graphics enhancement patch for the new Nintendo Switch models that will be released alongside DLC2.”
English isn’t that person’s first language, so we can’t read too much into the above. However, if the post is to be believed, we should be seeing some sort of new Switch by the time The Indigo Disk launches. That piece of DLC was dated for Winter 2023 in the Pokemon Presents event today, though it has a tentative April 2024 release window on the eShop.
One possibility is that the 4chan user had knowledge about the DLC, but was throwing in the tidbit about a new Switch just for the sake of it. There’s unfortunately no way or verifying things either way currently. However, since so much about the Scarlet and Pokemon Violet DLC ended up being correct, we figured the post was at least worth a mention. It goes without saying, but every rumor should be taken with a grain of salt.
We have information about the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet DLC here.
