Sanatory Hallways hitting the European Wii U eShop on August 6
Wegenbartho is bringing Sanatory Hallways to the European Wii U eShop next week, according to a listing on the store. It should be available on August 6 for €9.99.
Here’s an official overview from the game’s Indiegogo page:
Sanatory Hallways takes the idea of the Luigi mini-game from Nintendoland and takes it up to a whole new level.
In the Versus-Mode (local only for the WiiU), one player takes control of the protagonist Charla, who’s plagued by nightmares where she finds herself located in strange buildings and facilities. Her goal is to find a blue key, which allows her to unlock the exit and thus making her wake up.
Then we have Mr. Spuk, a ghostly apparition who isn’t that fond of the idea of Charla waking up. The second player tries to drain Charla’s dream-energy (comparable to sanity) with Mr. Spuk, either through a sneaky approach or with the help of his haunting abilities.
Beware, he hates any form of light and gets damaged and slowed when illuminated. Either hide in a cabinet or under a table when the lights go on and you will be fine.
Haunting abilities include, but are not limited to: Setting traps, draining electricity, causing scary sounds, summoning walls, breaking windows, closing doors, changing paintings, moving objects, etc.
They can easily be activated by touching the symbol on the GamePad, providing you have enough Spookpower. There are also Dream Demons, who are aggresive guardians, sitting at one place and waiting for Charla to get close. They vanish instantly when getting hit by light, but reappear at the same speed when the illumination wears off.
There’s also a singleplayer Storymode, featuring three levels. It’s a short yet creepy adventure where you slowly learn the reason why Charla keeps having those nightmares and get one of two endings, depending on what you could find out.
