Series director Warren Spector would love to make Epic Mickey 3
Epic Mickey director Warren Spector says he would love to develop Epic Mickey 3. However, don’t expect it anytime soon.
Spector was asked about the possibility on LinkedIn. Despite having a “high level idea” in mind for a new game, he’s currently busy at his current studio OtherSide and projects going on there. Spector noted: “I’d love to do Epic Mickey 3 but I have a day job that would make that impossible.”
In other news, Specter has high praise for the work being done on Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, the remake of the Wii game that was announced last week. He noted that those “on the original team as well as the Purple Lamp and THQ Nordic teams that worked on the remaster did a great job bringing the game to life.”
Epic Mickey ultimately received two mainline games along with the side-scrolling platformer Power of Illusion for 3DS. It’s also been revealed over the years that there were plans for Epic Donald and Epic Disney Racers at one point.
For now Epic Mickey fans can look forward to Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, which launches on Switch later in 2024. Aside from updated graphics, the remake will bring along some new elements such as new moves plus other improvements. Read more about it here.
