Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance daily demon vol. 27 – Jack-o’-Lantern

Another Daily Demon video for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance has been released by Atlus. Today we’re taking a look at Jack-o’-Lantern.

A Fairy race Demon, Jack-o’-Lantern has featured in almost every instalment of the Megami Tensei franchise to date, and is one of the first that players can unlock via fusion or encounter in battle. In Shin Megami Tensei V, it had the following lore:

“An Irish spirit typically found in swamps, bogs, or marshes.
Said to be spirits of the dead, Jack-o’-Lanterns appear as floating flames and are known around the world by various names such as “Will-o’-the-Wisp” and “Hitodama.” They are also said to come out at night to startle travelers and make them lose their way.”
