Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance daily demon vol. 37 – Anansi

Another Daily Demon video for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance has been released by Atlus. This video gives us some more information about a new demon for the series, Anansi.

Anansi is a demon of the Genma race, and will be making his debut in the game. He has his origins in African mythology, being best known for his trickery and wit. The Megami Tensei Wiki has a little more information about his lore, which you can read below:

Anansi is a folklore figure that hails from West Africa, having first been noted among the Akan. He is famed for his association with stories and trickery, as well as being depicted as a spider, similar to coyotes with various Native American tribes.

Stories depicting him have him use his wits to gain the better of the situation rather than might. While he’s more famous for being the protagonist of stories, it’s not unheard of for Anansi to be the antagonist.
