Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance daily demon vol. 4 – Amabie

Another Daily Demon video for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance has been released by Atlus, this time focusing on Amabie.
Amabie, an Enigma race demon, will be making its debut in the game, having never featured in any prior instalment in the series. Masayuki Doi’s design for the demon which will be used in the game actually debuted in 2021, as a wish for the COVID-19 pandemic to end. The Megami Tensei wiki has this to share about its origins:
Amabie is a Japanese urban legend with sparse information. It is some form of merfolk with a beaklike mouth and three legs or tail-fins, that allegedly emerges from the sea, prophesies either an abundant harvest or an epidemic, and instructs people to make copies of its likeness to defend against illness. It’s usually thought of to be a misspelling of “Amabiko,” a youkai with a similar name.
