Some Nintendo Switch users impacted by error code 2206-1015 following system update
A major version 20.0.0 update just recently went live for Nintendo Switch this week, and while it’s added a number of new features, some are impacted by the error code 2206-1015.
This appears to be a worldwide issue as we’ve seen reports in both the west and Japan. If you’ve come across the error code, you may not be able to start your system. There also appear to be variations of the error code such as 2206-1014.
Nintendo is at least aware of the Switch error code 2206-1015, and shared the following in a statement:
We are currently receiving inquiries from some customers about the occurrence of error code: 2206-1015 after updating to Nintendo Switch system version 20.0.0. We are currently investigating how to deal with this issue. We apologize for the inconvenience, and ask that you wait for further information.
Nintendo Switch version 20.0.0 was one of the biggest firmware upgrades for the system in years. With Switch 2 coming in just over a month, support is now included for data transfers and GameShare.
