Video: First look at Sonic Frontiers’ fishing mini-game with Big the Cat

Back when we published our Sonic Frontiers hands-on preview a few months ago, we noted that the title would include a fishing mini-game. An off-screen video has now surfaced that provides a bit of footage, including a look at Big the Cat who we haven’t seen until now.
It’s assumed that the video was recorded at Gamescom 2022 last month. Sonic Frontiers was playable at an expo for the first time, giving many fans a hands-on opportunity.
The mini game involves players tilting their rod up when a white ripple overlaps with a red one. By catching fish, they can earn Treasure Tokens. These tokens can then be traded for items that will aid Sonic on his adventure. The game also mentions a Gold Card that can be exchanged for one of the items on the list.
