Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds reveals release date, Switch 2 version, plus Minecraft DLC and more

During Summer Game Fest 2025 today, SEGA shared the latest on Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, including various collaborations, confirmation of a Nintendo Switch 2 version, and a release date. It’ll be out for Nintendo Switch on September 25, 2025 with Switch 2 following later.

For collaborations, ​Hatsune Miku, Joker, and Ichiban Kasuga are joining as free post-launch content. Meanwhile, we’ll also be seeing Steve, Alex, and Creeper from Minecraft as future paid content.

Here’s an overview of the game:

Race across land, sea, air, space, and time in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds! Warp through Travel Rings into new dimensions where something new awaits around every twist and turn. Speed to victory solo or as a team in a variety of offline and online modes and compete against players from around the world. Build the ultimate machine to match your racing style, unlock gadgets to gain the upper hand, and unleash power-up items for the win!
