Super Mario 3D World lets you “climb even higher” on Switch, supports gyro controls

Nintendo has revealed another change – or addition depending on how you look at it – for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury.

On Wii U, there were certain stages that used touch controls on the GamePad. Nintendo says that the Switch version now supports gyro controls in these sections.

Another aspect that’s been reconfirmed is that characters “have received a boost to their running speed and climb even higher after picking up a Super Bell, making platforming that little bit snappier.” This is something that we first heard about following the announcement last year.

Nintendo’s official UK website for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury states:

“All characters have received a boost to their running speed and climb even higher after picking up a Super Bell, making platforming that little bit snappier. You can now also use gyro controls for certain sections of the game that previously required touch controls.”

You can get your hands on Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury on February 12.
