Switch has best-ever hardware and software sales week in the UK / Europe

According to new data from Nintendo, Switch systems and games sold more in the UK and across Europe during the week of November 23 than any other week in the console’s lifespan. That’s based on reported sell-through according to internal Nintendo sales data. Software sales for both physical and digital sales are included.

On the hardware front, the previous best for Switch was in November 2019. The limited bundle including a Switch console, a download code for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and a three-month individual membership to Nintendo Switch Online provided a boost in sales.

Nintendo also says that November 2021 saw back-to-back record-breaking weeks for Switch software sales in Europe. During the week of November 15, more Switch games were sold across Europe than any previous week in the console’s history, a record that was then further surpassed the following week.

One reason for the high software sales is the launch of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Pokemon Shining Pearl on November 19. The two games sold more than six million copies globally in the first weekend on sale.
