As we start to wind down on the Switch era, an interesting tidbit has come to light regarding the mainline Pokemon games. Nintendo’s latest console is where the franchise has achieved the most success and highest sales.

Pokemon games have managed to sell over 96 million copies on Switch. Pokemon Sword and Shield are the current best-sellers at 26.27 million. However, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are right behind at 24.92 million. And speaking of Scarlet and Violet, they’re the fastest selling entry in the series and the third best-selling title overall.

Moving back over to Pokemon’s performance on Nintendo platforms, after Switch, Game Boy / Game Boy Colors follows in second with 75.81 million units. DS, 3DS, and GBA round out the list at 62.15 million, 56.89 million, and 35.28 million respectively.
