Switch update out now (version 18.0.1), patch notes
Nintendo just started distribution of the latest Switch firmware update, version 18.0.1.
If you were experiencing issues finding an access point for the internet, we’re happy to say that this has now been addressed. It wasn’t a universal issue as it only impacted certain access points. Also, the usual stability improvements are included.
Here’s the full rundown:
Switch update version 18.0.1 patch notes
- Fixed an issue where some wireless access points cannot be found when setting up a new wireless network.
- If you’re unable to update to Version 18.0.1 because of the issue, temporarily change the security settings for your wireless network to use only “WPA2 (AES)” so you can connect wirelessly to download and install the system update.
- After updating to Version 18.0.1, restore your network’s security settings to its previous settings.
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.
Nintendo previously released the last Switch firmware version, 18.0.1, last month. It came with a “15 Minutes” as an option for “Auto-sleep when playing on TV” in Sleep Mode Settings. Korean support was also added to the Nintendo Switch Parental Controls introduction video. You can find the full rundown of everything that included here.
The Switch version 18.0.1 update is now available for all system owners.
