Switch update out now (version 19.0.0), patch notes
The latest firmware update for Switch just went live as Nintendo has started distribution of version 19.0.0.
This marks another update that won’t bring much excitement to system owners. We get the same rundown from Nintendo that we’ve been used to seeing as of late, which is that the latest stability improvements have been made available.
Below are the official patch notes from Nintendo:
Switch update version 19.0.0 patch notes
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.
Even though we’re getting a version change here, there’s not much of significance (at least to the general user) and there are no new features. However, it’s not the first time we’ve seen something like this. With version 18.0.0, that was also mostly about stability, though it also included an additional auto-sleep option and Korean support for the Switch Parental Controls video. We have the full coverage on that update here.
You may recall that version 18.1.0 was the last update for Switch, which released in June. That was arguably more significant than today’s update as X / Twitter support was removed and Nintendo took out the feature in which you could link social media accounts from “My Page” > “Friend Suggestions”. For those interested, we also have coverage on version 18.1.0 here.
