Temtem version 1.8 to be the last major update, microtransactions to be removed

Crema isn’t done with Temtem as of yet, but is starting to move towards ending major development. Version 1.8 will be the last major update for the game.

Version 1.7 will come first with a new Season, a new Tamer Pass, balance changes, new features, bug fixing, and quality of life updates. When version 1.8 drops down the road, that’ll largely be it for the game, and it won’t have a Tamer Pass or Season. Additionally, there won’t be any more seasons. Future patches will involve polishing, bug fixing, and balancing Temtem “for as long as it needs it.”

Also starting with Temtem version 1.7 is the removal of all microtransactions. Players won’t be able to purchase Novas anymore, though Novas already bought can still be used and anything you could purchase with Novas will be purchasable with Feathers from now on.

Crema is currently developing a new Temtem game called Temtem: Swarm, but it’s not a sequel. The studio doesn’t seem interested in making Temtem 2 just yet since “the stakes are high and there aren’t enough resources to achieve what the team would desire the sequel to be, and the sequel you would deserve. Crema further said it’s “simply not ready” and “as a studio, too small to embark on the feat we’d like Temtem 2 to be; we don’t currently have the technical knowledge, the time nor the ability to bring those ideas to life.”

All of the information comes from a lengthy post on Crema’s site talking about the future and more. You can read it in full here.
