The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim update out now on Nintendo Switch 2
Just a few minutes ago, Bethesda confirmed that it’s shipped a new update for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch 2.
There’s a singular purpose behind the patch, but it’s significant. Once applied, you should find less input latency, which has been a big problem since launch.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim was found to be a bit of a mixed bag on Nintendo Switch 2 following its recent shadowdrop launch. While the release brings the visuals in line with the PlayStation 5 version, input lag was severe. The delay wasn’t speculator on Nintendo Switch, but on Switch 2, it was significantly worse. However, following today’s update, player reports indicate that input latency has now been greatly improved.
With that addressed, the main disappointment with The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim on Nintendo Switch 2 will continue to be the game’s frame rate. Just like on the original Nintendo Switch, it’s locked to 30 FPS. That’s in contrast to the PS5 version which tends to stick at 60.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is out now on Nintendo Switch 2 via the eShop. You can find more technical details about the game on Nintendo’s latest system here.
