West of Loathing dev scrapped an idea for a first-person gunfighting system
West of Loathing could have had a first-person gunfighting system. That’s according to developer Asymmetric, who shared that information in an interview with Nintendo.
Why was the first-person gunfighting idea ultimately scrapped? Asymmetric says the team “just couldn’t figure out how to make it funny enough.”
Asymmetric shared the following:
“We spent a bunch of time talking about a first-person gunfighting system system that didn’t end up in the final game. We just couldn’t figure out how to make it funny enough. In the end, we figured if people were okay with a Western game where you never see a person riding a horse, they’re probably also okay with one where you don’t manually aim a gun. The shooting gallery where you customize your character is all that remains of that idea!”
