Wreckfest recently made it to Switch, and Digital Foundry has now offered up a technical analysis, which includes details about the frame rate and resolution. Overall, while there are some compromises, there aren’t massive cutbacks and the team has done a pretty admirable job.

– All core rendering tech seems intact on Switch
– Looks similar on Switch compared to other platforms
– Wreckfest resolution is 1600 x 900 on Switch when docked
– Reduction in texture quality on Switch
– Foliage has also been downgraded

– Car geometry subtly streamlined
– Tweaks to post-processing such as no motion blur
– Wreckfest frame rate is 30 FPS on Switch
– Brief performance drops car take place such as when there are a lot of cars on screen as well as certain dense sections of tracks
– Replays often hit 20 FPS for extended periods
– Resolution is 960 x 540p in portable mode
– This is upscaled to the Switch’s 720p screen using nearest neighbor filtering
