Mario Strikers Battle League next level games

As many had suspected, Next Level Games is indeed working on Mario Strikers: Battle League.

A few major Switch games were announced during the most recent Nintendo Direct this month, including Mario Strikers: Battle League. However, there’s been a little bit of curiosity as to which team is developing the project.

Super Mario Strikers came out on the GameCube 2005, and it was created by Next Level Games. The studio then returned for Mario Strikers Charged on Wii in 2007. It’s obviously been a very long time since then, but we’re now getting Mario Strikers: Battle League on Switch more than a decade later.

Next Level Games has worked on all sorts of Nintendo games and properties since the series’ last entry. There’s been Punch-Out!! on Wii, a couple of Luigi’s Mansion games, and Metroid Prime: Federation Force. As many had assumed though, Next Level Games is back on board for Mario Strikers: Battle League.

That information comes directly from a new listing that was added to the Australian classification database a few days ago. Next Level Games is clearly listed as the “author” while Nintendo is the publisher. What this means is that the title is in good hands and wasn’t sent off to a different team.

Mario Strikers: Battle League launches for Switch on June 10, 2022.
