Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom amiibo rewards and compatibility guide
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is available now, and as with most recent Zelda games, it’s got compatibility with specific amiibo figures with rewards to unlock. This comes in the form of random cooking items and exclusive outfits, but the latter aren’t obtained until later in the game. This post contains very minor spoilers on what exactly you have to clear to unlock that functionality, but if you’re all good with that, then we’ve compiled all amiibo-exclusive gear and which specific figurines will yield what items.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom generally supports every amiibo figure from the Legend of Zelda line. After clearing the tutorial area, you’ll unlock the first half of this game’s amiibo compatibility: items. Three times a day, you can scan up to three different Legend of Zelda series amiibo to receive randomly-generated cooking materials. You can use these to make smoothies with a variety of effects, or choose to sell them instead for some extra cash. If for some reason you’d like more than three amiibo scans per day, you can simply change the system time on your Switch to reset this rule and scan more amiibo in a single real-life day.
Further into Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (after clearing certain main story objectives in Hyrule Castle Town, that is), you’ll receive a notice that you can now use amiibo to unlock more items and rewards. For one, you can scan any Link amiibo (the Smash series one or any of the various Legend of Zelda Link figures) to receive an exclusive red tunic. You can scan any Zelda amiibo (Smash series, the Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom one, the Zelda & Loftwing figure, and such) to receive a blue dress. Finally, you can scan other Zelda characters (we used Ganondorf) to unlock a black cat costume. If you bought the three Tears of the Kingdom amiibo – Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf – you can use all three of them to unlock all of the exclusive gear. Fun fact: when you wear the black cat costume, you can talk to the various cats present in the game.
