Update 2: The Spring Man-esque character will intrude in Grand Prix if you are fighting through with good results in higher than level 4 difficulty. Here are some screenshots:

Update: Full patch notes added below. Along with badges and recent replays, Nintendo also says that there is “an interloper who has been disrupting the Grand Prix, going after our fiercest competitors.” Issues fixed, and adjustments made to fighters and ARMS as well.

Original: ARMS’ latest update has gone live. Nintendo has started distribution of version 3.2.0 around the world.

We don’t have the full patch notes just yet, but this update should be fairly substantial. Badges have been added as well as a replay list. Nintendo also previously teased some sort of character who looks a lot like Spring Man.

Stay tuned for further details.

The new boss character is named Springtron. I got to fight him after getting quite few perfects in level 4 Grand Prix.

Are those the conditions to fight him, getting a few perfects? Or is it just Grand Prix Level 4 or higher?

      • Saki Okuda

You need to do Level 4 or higher Grand Prix. However, you may not need to get any perfects. It sounds like you can’t lose any round(2-0 for every fight) in order for him to show up.

        • LordDisco

Oh, wow. Okay. So if you lose any round at all, he won’t show up? Also, is he the final boss, or will he be some random mini-boss in the middle or before the final?

          • Saki Okuda

It’s still kinda unknown, but most people are going with you can’t lose any round at all.

He’s not a final boss. He appears right before Max Brass. Also, if you lose to Springtron, you can’t rematch him like other fighters. It goes straight into Max Brass.

“Calming my nerves melting away the shackles I can move faster!” Wish I had this ability.

That’s kinda cool how they gave a canon reason for a patch buff to a character. Don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
