New data provided by Sensor Tower offers new insight into the performance of Fire Emblem Heroes, which launched in February. The game seems to have done pretty well for itself so far.

Fire Emblem Heroes has been downloaded over ten million times worldwide across iOS and Android. The more interesting stat reveals that Nintendo has generated over $100 million from the game. $61.5 million is from iOS while another $53.4 million is from Android users.

Fire Emblem Heroes has been downloaded primarily by Japanese users, who make up 66 percent of the game’s userbase. The United States is next at 24 percent, followed by Canada at 6 percent.

  • Sadly, this is probably why its very likely all future Nintendo mobile games – including my beloved Animal Crossing – will be “Free to Play”. 🙁

Animal crossing will probably be free to play considering its been in development just like heroes was. It could do what mario did but we don’t know if they are doing that. However future apps could do something different unlike heroes. Maybe they will go the mario way who knows.

Just going to say personally I just wasn’t interested in the mario app but their method wasn’t wrong. If they do it with a more interesting app to me I’ll probably try it.

Animal Crossing revolving almost entirely around item collection I’m not even sure there’s another way to go.
What could be interesting is if the mobile game was some kind of companion app for an actual game on Switch, kind of like SplatNet2, where you could get news about events, what friends are doing and decide whether or not to play the game based on that.

  • AquaBat

That’s an average of about ten million dollars spent per download. That’s insane. Gatcha whales are a heckuva profit machine.

    • Gregory Weagle

I call shennigans on this. I’m sure the game made a lot of scratch; but $10 million per download. This sounds like BS to me. Who are these six million people? They got to be the richest folks in history.

      • DanPan16

AquaBat’s math is off. It’s $10 per download, not $10 million.

        • Gregory Weagle

Yeah; I finally noticed. Sorry about that.

      • AquaBat

The average doesn’t necessarily mean the actual amount spent per download. It just means a lot of people have spent obscene amounts, enough to completely overpower the significant amount of players who haven’t spent any money.
And that’s what happens with gatcha games. They’re specifically designed to entice players to essentially gamble all their money away.

      ten million, huh

    • AquaBat

I’m actually stupid and don’t understand math, it’s $10 per download lol

  • Tlink7

I don’t think anybody is surprised by that piechart

  • ugh
not even the devil thinks this is a good idea

    • Gregory Weagle

Yeah; $10 million spent per download…Sounds like the numbers are BS to me.

      • Do you know how to math?

        • Gregory Weagle

Yeah; I noticed the major gaffe AquaBat did and I’m sorry I took it seriously.

  • hi-chan!

This is why some games releases on Apple first

    • ronin4life

Might have more to do with Apple, last I heard, still being a larger share of the Market in Japan.

Though I am willing to bet Apple users spend more money than Android.

  • chancetime

Not surprised at all. For those who don’t play, they had an event not too long ago where within a short period of time, they released one of the most sought-after characters (Ike) and a special banner where the likelihood of getting a 5 was almost doubled in % with some of the higher tier characters in the game. People spent a LOT on both banners.

  • キロ

Not a single cent was from me though. xD So far!

    • Carlos

Me either. I personally think that the amount of orbs you get for the money spent isn’t very much. Plus they give you a ton anyway.

      • キロ

Yes, I am glad they are more generous than I thought they would be with orbs. xD Indeed from what I saw they really don’t give you much for the money too…

    • Cyntheta Luis

Same, I enjoy this game, but wasn’t ready to spent money on it. Though I have to say building characters is insanely fun in this game

      • キロ

It is! It’s why I say I’m unfortunately enjoying this more than Shadows of Valentia at the moment. XD
