Q22: When you are connected to the internet and start the game, you can join one of the three different types of Squads. Squads are units of up to 32 players. Roughly 60 percent of respondents chose a single-player focused Squad.
Q23: When you are a member of a Squad, Squad Missions will activate at random. It is optional to participate in them, but if you clear the mission within a time limit, you get rewards like the ability to start a Squad Quest. Although answers “Didn’t enjoy” and “No opinion” stood out, 25 percent of the respondents liked the feature. Players valued that you can freely take a break from the adventure and join in and if someone on the Squad clears sub objectives, everyone gets a reward.
Q24: Squad Quests are a form of multiplayer where up to four Squad members take on challenges. The most common answer from people who had tried the feature was “Didn’t enjoy”. Reasons for disliking the feature included poor balancing that makes quests easy to clear and players who weren’t active in clearing Squad Missions may take a spot from people who actually contributed. On the other hand, many players found the cooperative play satisfying and were highly motivated to hunt down ferocious World Enemies.
Q25: Online functions include Squad Report (sharing information), Treasure Deal (donating loot as a present) and Player Scouting (scouting other players’ avatars as a NPC). According to the results, the easier a system is to use, the more it’s used.
Q28: Respondents were asked to rate the game on the scale of 0-100. If the given score was more than 100, it was considered as 100. Most of the scores were from 61 to 90, and the average was 74.4. [Note: scores for 21-30 are missing in the original Famitsu report, too]
