NBA 2K18 has received what many would probably feel is a much-needed patch on Switch. We’re hearing reports that the new update just went out a short while ago.

Visual Concepts has specifically addressed the frame rate and audio syncing during cut-scenes in MyCAREER. An issue has also been fixed with local play.

The full patch notes are as follows:

– Fixed a case where game framerate would drop for the remainder of the game following a called timeout.
– Users are now able to view the individual attributes and their values when upgrading their players in MyCAREER.
– Gray indicators have been added underneath the feet of your teammates in the Playground; it is now much quicker and easier to discern your teammates from your opponents.
– Global settings/options will no longer reset to default after entering a MyTEAM game.
– Users will no longer lose their facial hair when re-scanning their face.
– Addressed a case where Draft-and-Stash players in MyLEAGUE/MyGM would be signed to a $0 contract, while simultaneously being duplicated in the upcoming rookie draft (new save required).
– Generated prospects in future seasons of MyLEAGUE/MyGM will now always have heights appropriate for their position (new save required).
– Free agents 32 years or older will no longer pass up big money offers to sign for the MLE in MyGM/MyLEAGUE.
– Users will no longer display negative badge progress following an exceptional performance in MyCAREER. For those currently experiencing this, continue playing and your tally will be incremented towards your next bonus.
– Fixed a hang that could occur when the user was scrolling down the list of available shirts in the T-Shirt Kiosk.
– Improved framerate in the court area of the Playground when games are being played on most/all of the courts.
– Addressed a hang that could occur when bringing up the squad menu in a completely full Neighborhood.
– Fixed a soft hang in Live Practice where the ball would not get picked up when using the ball machine.
– Fixed an issue where the camera would always point to the middle of the court if the user had the Auto Flip option enabled while in the broadcast camera(s).
– (Switch) Improved framerate/audio syncing during tunnel/locker room scenes in MyCAREER.
– (Switch) Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented Local Play from commencing when there were four participants.

    • michaelknight31

NBA 2k18 size got smaller it takes up 9.9gb now instead of the 20 something gb before, so i guess everything will fit on game card when the physical come out…………

      Wow, that’s interesting

For real?! I might pick this up <3 Thanks for the update!!!

Really?? That would be incredible if true.

The image you posted states that 2K18 is ~23 GB, with the save file occupying another 3 GB.

I was explaining in the other post after it update and install the file size change to 20 something gig but while updating it shows 9 gig

        • awng782

          Holy cow…that’s insane.

i was thinking the same, that they must of compress everything, but once it finish download the patch and then install it, the game size grew, but they did lower the save file to 3GB, instead of 5GB, but everything else same size, my micro sd space got bigger too, as you can see in the picture it say i have 49.9 GB but once it got install and patched… went back to normal 60GB space left to use…… im guessing when it updates it hold data to fix everything and then give you the space back

i hope they fixed online multiplayer, i havent been able to join my friends and vice versa since the launch!

No lag in handheld mode in story mode now……looks as smooth as docked

  • Gemmol Lewis

Wow it really run smooth in handheld mode, night and day difference and with it taking up less space i still have 60gb of memory for something else

    • Jaxon Holden

No way it takes up less space. The box specifically states you need an SD card, and the carts will have been printed long before now to be sold next week. I’m calling BS. Same for the battery thing. Unless you have some actual data to show

  • Gemmol Lewis

Battery seem to last a bit more in handheld mode

  • Joshua Blue Williams

Wow! I have this game on xbox, ps4 and switch, and liked the Switch version the best aside from some of the performance issues during cut-scenes… Not only did they fix the cut scenes, but the game overall (including park) runs buttery smooth now.. I REALLY hope that people update their reviews, because with all the bad reviews I’m worries we’ll never see another 2k title on this system. However this game is magnificent, and feature complete. We must get the word out if this is something we want to continue to see on the platform.

    Thanks Take Two!!!!

Writer on here should be writing what we just wrote but i bet they wont

Anybody know if this fixes the corrupted saves issue?? That was the MAJOR issue that needed fixing in my opinion. NO point playing the game if at any time when you boot it up, all your saves are gone!

  • McCaron

has the gameplay improved ? it seemed a bit laggy before
