Overwatch director on challenges bringing the game to Switch

Posted on April 8, 2017 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Switch

Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan noted last month that Blizzard is open to bringing the shooter to Switch, though doing so would be “very challenging”. Express followed up with Kaplan and pushed further about the possibility of it happening.

Kaplan pointed to a couple of challenges in porting Overwatch to Switch. First, the team “would have to revisit performance”. A Switch version would also require Blizzard to support another platform with patches alongside the other systems. Kaplan did reiterate that Blizzard is “very open-minded about what platforms we could be on.”

He said:

“I think the problem is, we’ve really targeted our min spec in a way that we would have to revisit performance and how to get on that platform. And also, it’s already challenging right now maintaining three platforms and patching simultaneously, which is something that we’ve finally been able to achieve.”

“Our first couple of patches would come out on PC first and then later on the consoles. And a lot of that is because you’re working with Microsoft and Sony, and you want to be compliant to their ecosystems. Adding a third ecosystem to that just adds a lot of complexity for us, as well.”

“But I always like to tell people we’re very open-minded about what platforms we could be on. Just because we’re not on a platform right now, it doesn’t mean we won’t reconsider it in the future, so we stay aware of all these things.”

    Just do it.

    • ibo

i’m telling you right now this will never happen…

      • jimmy

Too late in the game plus its unnecessary

      • Vigilante_blade

        I am quite aware.

      • Dascylus

And it’s not even a matter of processing power, since Overwatch can run very well even on a potato. It’s because the Overwatch team isn’t big enough to manage 4 different versions.

        • The truth-ier

i guess you are a developer with knowledge to know this game can be a full port and the weak switch…assumptions are lazy

          • nemo37

Guess what? You are not a developer either, so by your own statement you should also probably stop speaking. Also, I find it funny you are acting so high and mighty about the concerns of developers, and yet you whine on Playstation sites whenever a third-party game is shown to run worse on your favorite system, the Xbox One, than on a Playstation 4. But then again your comments are always filled with a heavy dose of hypocrisy.

      • Exy

Going by precedent, it will happen eventually, but it’ll only come around late in the Switch’s life cycle, by which point the peak for Overwatch will have long since passed.

        • ibo

I love you exy.You get it

  • jbmindtrick

Blah, Blah, Blah. Quit being a whiny little *&%$h and just do it already. Add a couple dozen more people and allocate them to a Switch team. Your return would come 10-fold.

    • Travis Touchdown

I know, right? It isn’t all that complicated.

      • loli hunter-san ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Said the guy who knows nothing about developing and porting a game

      • Velen (Not WoW)

Let me spell this out: porting is not as simple as dumping the game onto another console. That is not how anything works, if you just dump game code as is into another environment, depending on the engine used, you’ll end up with coding conflicts and bugs out the wazoo that will ensure the game is broken upon release unless fixed.

They they got to make sure it runs smoothly on the hardware enough to be playable.

        • Travis Touchdown

Again, it’s not that hard to make a good port.

          • Velen (Not WoW)

It’s harder than you’re making it out to be, and you’re showing pure arrogance and ignorance by refusing to acknowledge what challenges would be involved.

          • ibo

            LOL
“you’re showing pure arrogance and ignorance”

          • Velen (Not WoW)

Troll harder, you suck at it. : P

          • ibo

            i’m not trolling…

          • DarkVader

            It’s this troll again, sigh

          • ibo

            Feeeeed me

          • Travis Touchdown

            “Putting in effort is hard!”

            But it’s worth it.

          • TheSkullKid

Ok so basically make the Yooka-Laylee ports but with Overwatch and on even lower specs. BRILLIANT

          • Anchelspain

Eehh… as a game developer myself, having worked on titles for consoles and mobile platforms, I can tell you it is way harder than you think.

    • The truth-ier

10 fold lol, nintendo 3rd party games are never known to sell well or good.

      • nemo37

Yeah tell that to Monster Hunter, Rayman, Bayonetta, Yo-Kai Watch, Dragon Quest, etc. Anymore lies?

        • NinetalesCommander

Ignore this twonk, he thinks he knows how all this stuff works but in reality he’s still stuck in the 50’s.
Actually no, 50’s is way too much credit.

  • theFooFighter

Nintendo should partner with them on this and go all out with a port. Amiibo, lan support, single player content ECT.

    • ibo

not worth it… game itself is not that great …

      • theFooFighter

Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean Nintendo and blizzard should skip this opportunity. I don’t like Minecraft but it’s still big money and there’s probably going to be some switch exclusive content when it releases

      • Vigilante_blade

I see a lot of people enjoying it.

        • ibo

the game is corporate trash, it is clear as day the game was designed around PC (politically correct) culture.

“diversity” will make us stronger such nonsense.
what made America strong and great was the free markets & limited government.

          keep consuming NWO agenda propaganda

          • darkfire998

As someone who really hates PC culture, I enjoy Overwatch a lot and spent most time playing it last year.

          • Zoon Politikon

I love PC culture, and hate Overwatch…go figure.

          • ibo

            sure you do…..

          • ibo

apparently you do not hate PC culture enough

          • darkfire998

apparently I don’t care since it’s fun as hell

          • ibo

            it’s ok not that fun..

          • Kenshin0011

            lmao, you’re twisted.

          • Vigilante_blade

And yet it is still being played. I hate politically correct culture, but it has nothing to do with why people play it.

          • ForeVision

Mind explaining this whole politically correct thing that’s being discussed here? I’m afraid I’m at a complete loss as to what it could entail.

          • Kenshin0011

            It’s utter, illogical, conspirator drivel.

So because Overwatch has a gay character, it somehow goes against free markets, limited government, and is connected to some New World Order? It’s laughably ridiculous!

          • ibo
          • not surprised you support this white supremacist scum. take your low quality trolling elsewhere

          • ibo

if you can not see NWO agenda propaganda then i’m sorry you are so clueless…….

          • Kenshin0011

It’s sad that I cannot tell if joking/sarcastic, because Alex Jones and his un-ironic fans are that much of fools

          • ibo

Alex is the only great thing about Texas

          • ibo

but for real i had a dream a week back and you were in it haha Xd you were just a floating icon of the pic you use here and i sold you an old rare copy bomberman for playstation. no joke this was a real dream

          • Vigilante_blade

I see we have an innefective troll on our hands… Or something more pitiful.

          • ibo

            haha

          • ibo

          • Vigilante_blade

I think it stems from a one of Tracer’s victory animations where she’d lean and you’d somewhat see her clothed butt caused a huge controversy and Blizzard removed it. I disagree with the removal, but I also think that ibo is being too hyperbolic about it.

          • Kenshin0011

They didn’t remove anything, they changed a pose and it didn’t alter the subject of what was deemed “inappropriate” by some in the first place.

          • ForeVision

Her new pose shows as much behind, which was the reason why they thought it changed, as the old one. In fact, Overwatch has plenty of said behinds, so this entire political argument is nothing but hot air.

          • Kenshin0011

It also was never as much as “an uproar” as some made it out to be. A small, small minority of people spoke out specifically about being bothered by their perceived wrongness of the victory pose.

          • Velen (Not WoW)

            @ForeVision:disqus

I think you two should look up Troy Leavitts Youtube channel for some interesting videos from the perspective of a Veteran Game Dev.

          • ibo

I think they should make her fatter so it would be more PC

          • Jai Kumar

Basically he’s calling overwatch a cheap feminist game that feeds off of people wanting equal rights while doing nothing about it. WHICH IT IS NOT!

          • Velen (Not WoW)

Oh *** you’re one of those idiots.

          • ibo

            and i care why?

          • ibo

as if i care what u think.. u are so full of ur self

    • hi v3.0

Overwatch Amiibo will easily make the Switch version superior than the PS4/XB1 versions

    • Vigilante_blade

I think Nintendo would actually benefit from such partnerships. It worked quite well for Soul Calibur for example, and the only reason it did was because of Link. Before that, fighters uses to not do very well on Nintendo systems. I could easily imagine say… Tracer with Fox’s uniform, or Sheikah suit Hanzo, etc… Heck, just letting you fight bots offline would probably work fine too for the portability aspect.

  • ForeVision

Considering that there’s separate balance, separate patches and all that going on for this game on console vs PC, I can see where he’s coming from.

I play Overwatch on my PC on a regular basis, and I’ve red and heard of the differences between it and the PS4 version from a friend who owns it, and now plays the PC version as well. Something like some sort of aim-assist on consoles, which changes how balance is to be applied.

I do wonder how it would run on undocked mode. The team behind Overwatch has made the game so it can run well on low spec computers, so from that end, I don’t think it should be an issue.

  • Luke WalkingMoonTree

If they don’t come out with a Switch version by the end of this year they will be missing on A LOT of money, I don’t know how long Overwatch will remain popular, it’d be smart to do it now, even if it’s an half-assed version. (BTW imho it should run 720p/60fps docked with no problems, Overwatch isn’t a demanding game…)

    • hi v3.0

      I will gladly take 720p 60fps!

    • Travis Touchdown

      Overwatch isn’t popular.

      • awng781

        Ahahahaha

        • Don’t waste your breath with him, he’s been for years a blind Nintendo fanboy.

    • Dascylus

720p 60fps is very easy to achieve on low spec PCs as well, so I think it would be easy on Switch.

  • Jacob Groves

PLEASE DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT BLIZZARD!!! PLEASE!!!! I will buy this game for Switch. Please it would be fabulous if you do it. 🙂

Diablo IV in future for Switch too. It’s would be nice. 😀

  • The more they talk about it. The closer it happen.

  • Kenshin0011

I’m a big Overwatch fan and play it on PC.

I think another challenge is for Kaplan and the team to convince people like me, who own a Switch but also own Overwatch on PC, to buy the game again.

Motion controls would make it an instant buy, and make the game 2nd in line as the definitive version next to PC.

    • ForeVision

It would help make it unique and different from the other versions that’s for sure. Though personally I wouldn’t buy it again, I’m sure there’d be people that want to play this portably.

Personally I’ve got a hard time seeing a lot of value in the portability aspect of the Switch, since it’s firmly ingrained in my mind as a hybrid that’s a home-console for me, but I can see appeal in it regardless.

    • Aline Piroutek

Motion Controls and portability are impotant to consider when the game has been out for long time in other plataforms

      • Kenshin0011

Well it’s not like the game doesn’t already have some portability, because it runs on many laptops. I can play and maxed out ultra settings at 60fps on my laptop.

        • Aline Piroutek

*Playing lying down on the bed, this is portability

          • Kenshin0011

Switch certainly is the epitome of portability past even what a laptop offers 🙂

          • Velen (Not WoW)

Or playing in a public space or playing at a college campus or playing at the local Mc’Ds if they can support it.

    • jimmy

Would me an interesting amiibo support, can you imagine an actual Samus skin?

    • DeltaPeng

I think it would have to have motion control aiming incorporated to some extent to compete with PC users with mice (or to in general be comfortable, functional, and accurate), but ideally it’d be a control scheme like Splatoon (part camera controlled via stick, fine tune adjustments via motion controls / gyroscope)

    • Taun

I’d buy it if they implement gyro controls as good or better than Splatoon. Coming from PC gaming, gyro controls are the only FPS/TPS console control scheme where I’m not missing my mouse & keyboard.

  • Kaine Morrison

Is this that “orange juice” game?

    • ForeVision

      Orange juice?

      • Kaine Morrison

Yeah. I guess. It was a rail “skating” game.
        I can’t remember if it was a ps4 or xb1 game…

  • Aline Piroutek

Keeping the game running flawlessly, 60fps, even downgrading, a lot of people would be interested in buying a portable full-functional Overwatch.
I would buy even with Wii graphics level.

  • this is a lot of effort to say “No”

switch is not getting third party support and there’s certainly not much to gain from bringing a year old game to the system

    • Kenshin0011

Kaplan and the Overwatch team, if you’ve been following them as closely as I and other fans have been, are very genuine in their efforts and words. They do not mislead or obfuscate their intentions and are more forthcoming with gamers and their fans than any others in the industry right now.

      • I haven’t been stalking the dev team of a game i don’t play. This is not an announcement. The game is not out at target. Don’t get your hopes up

        • SpectralDynamite

That means you really don’t care about the game regardless, so why are you even here?

          • I’m here to tell you it’s not happening and stop being ridiculous

    • Vigilante_blade

A year old game that is constantly being updated. I can understand the argument for an old single player game, but this isn’t really a game that people “finish”. It will still be relevant in 15 years most likely.

      • it ain’t coming to switch
don’t get your hopes up because some guy tweeted

    • amak11

Proof of the Switch not getting Third Party? Because having Battlefield/Overwatch/Destiny/CoD/GTA is NOT what people mean by third party…

You idiots need to realize that.

  • Travis Touchdown

Real answer: they don’t want to be overshadowed by Splatoon.

    • theFooFighter

Overwatch would probably compliment splatoon more than anything. They’re similar games that probably have a similar audience. Sonic has never flopped because of Mario same can apply to o overwatch and Splatoon

      • ben

That is not really true. Splatoon is very flexible to people doing what they want and it being balanced. Overwatch is such a messed up product that they have nurffed and boffed the games characters so many times that a lot of people don’t even care about the game anymore.
I think Sonic probably has flopped because of Mario.

        • theFooFighter

Outside of boom and lost world sonic had always done well. Not only that but sonic consistently does best on Nintendo systems. Think about it there wouldn’t be so many Nintendo exclusive sonic games if sonic was getting overshadowed by Mario

          • ben

Nintendo paid Sony for those games.

          • theFooFighter

Yeah because sonic games typically sell well so having an exclusivity deal with a popular franchise makes sense. Only downside is Nintendo entered the deal right when people were starting to get sick of sonic being crap

          • Hidden Flare

While lost world has somewhat of an excuse, and it makes sense for the olympic games, I think the mistake was making boom the exclusive game. As some may know it was the wii u hurting the game seeing the engine wasn’t working well on the wii u. If this game made it to the other consoles or even pc it probably wouldn’t be as bad.

This is coming from a guy who likes sonic and the wii u, but this was not a good decision.

          • theFooFighter

It probably could have been fine if it had another year or 2 of development or if Nintendo stepped in. The cryengine can run on the 360 so it can definitely run on the Wii u but it was the first and only game on the system that uses the engine so the devs had to not only work on the game but optimize the engine without support from Nintendo, Sega or crytek

          • Hidden Flare

Yeah, its sad that big red button has this game on them so they aren’t probably doing well from here. At least sega knows to delay because its needed this time.

          • Hidden Flare

Sony? Nintendo paid sony for sonic?

          • ben

            I meant sega.

    • Vigilante_blade

Come on, there is no need for that. If we keep treating third parties like trash, why would you ever expect them to develop for Nintendo platforms?

      • Travis Touchdown

        Us, treating them like trash?
        Ha ha.

        • Vigilante_blade

You act as if third parties are a big bad evil and we’re the heroes of light.

The problem is multifaceted. Yes, many third parties gave us trash. However, we are also guilty of ignoring good third party games and never even giving them a chance. Nintendo is also shouldering most of the blame for the poor third party relations. Heck, I remember Nintendo driving the devs of GTA 3 to bankruptcy, and taking Argonaut software’s ideas as their own.

          • Velen (Not WoW)

“Heck, I remember Nintendo driving the devs of GTA 3 to bankruptcy, and taking Argonaut software’s ideas as their own.”

            Citation needed buddy.

          • Travis Touchdown

“I believe Guru Larry and his lies.”

Yeah, no. The problem with third parties is that Sony and Microsoft outright pay for support while Nintendo does not.

          • Vigilante_blade

So Nintendo does bad business then. Paying for support is actually the smart thing to do. Oh wait, I hear Bayonetta 2 calling in the distance. It says you are wrong.

          • Travis Touchdown

Bayonetta 2 is an exclusive that helped developed. It’s quite a different situation than most other third party games.

          • Vigilante_blade

No… It is not. Nintendo paid for the exclusivity. This is the same thing.

  • jimmy

Im not really interested in the game but would be kind of cool with amiibo support and Nintendo skins

  • YoungTheFish

    Appreciate the honesty, really.

  • Justmadeanaccount2

I just looked up the sales for Overwatch and they’re pretty low. Less than 1 Million on PC, just over 1 Million on Xbox One, and Just under 3 Million on PS4. I always assumed Overwatch was more popular than that. Splatoon has sales close to that and it was only on one platform.

    • Fisaulerod

Nope. Overwatch has sold more than 25 million copies.

    • Indielink

VGchartz doesn’t track digital sales I believe. VG is also not the most accurate sales check in general.

      • Fisaulerod

That’s right. Since most pc gamers don’t buy physical games, vgchartz is completely useless to estimate pc sale numbers.

    • Fisaulerod

      https://www.pcgamesn.com/overwatch/overwatch-sales-numbers
      Those are official numbers.
The vast majority of overwatch players bought the game digitally on pc.
It seems that you don’t anything about pc gaming. Most pc gamers don’t buy physical games, and vgchartz doesn’t count digital copies.

  • Puffdaddy

The only problem I see for Overwatch is the always online notion of it. Will it be viable for the Switch especially if someone undocks it and go somewhere with no wifi and disconnects?
That’s the only issue I see. Other than that, the game can run will on a low spec PC, so having it on Switch should be a non-issue, espcially if porting games from PS4 to Switch is a relatively easy process.

    • DeltaPeng

Online would affect it quite a bit, not sure how feasible it would be because of that, but if all the users understand that and know what they’re buying into, could work (for semi-portable gaming when stopped at wifi hotspots or such)

    • FutureFox

At some point during that transition process you’re not going to have wifi anyway.

  • Fisaulerod

This game runs decent even on some integrated graphics. The only challenge is mantaining another version of the game and maybe including an offline mode.
Although I wouldn’t buy it on the switch, I think the switch needs games like overwatch.

  • Operative

Thats about all he needs to say, really. It’d be hard to get the game running on the switch + the added challenge of adding a 4th platform to balance. No one should be upset by this. Maybe ask for hearthstone instead, that’d be a great fit

    • Velen (Not WoW)

-and exactly how do you know it would be hard to get it running on the switch?

      • Operative

Cuz he said so? He said they’d have to revisit the game and change it to get it to run on the switch, it wouldn’t be a simple port job, as nice as it would be.

  • gamerofallplatforms

So based on his comment, he basically said No.

    • ibo

yup and you have all the babies here hoping there is some coded message here with him saying yes….

    • Velen (Not WoW)

      It’s “No, not right now.”

  • dbizal

    Overwatch… More like Overhyped.

  • ben

Overwatch has a dying user base. I think that it is pointless to bring this game to switch as it would not have a chance against the far more flexible splatoon as the go to arena shooter. Overwatch is a fun game but it is incredibly limited.

    • Blanco8x8

At this point, I strongly agree.

      Splatoon > Overwatch

      • ben

I liked overwatch for 6 months but it is dead in the water once Quake champions releases on PC. Splatoon 1 is actually a better game competitively than overwatch. Overwatch design is a mess. The choke point concept makes the game really limited.

        • ForeVision

Only time will tell. Of many games have been said that they’d finally “kill” this one particular game. If I got 10 euros for every time that nonsense was spouted about WoW, I’d be a rich man indeed.

So excuse me if I do not believe that it will be dead in the water any-time soon. Only after they’d stop supporting it for a good time.

I think the big difference between Overwatch and WoW is that arena shooters are pretty common. And Quake is the king of Arena shooters, if ID can get the game play and speed of the last DOOM game in a hero shooter then it will make a massive dent in the PC arena shooter market.

My problems with Overwatch are the speed of the game. It just is not that fast and involves too much set up team plays. It is barely ever fun to play solo and the hero balance is pretty bad too.

I thought the game was great when it first released but as it has developed a lot of what made the game good has been drain out of it to make it “fair” for competitive play rather than fun and the premise of a game with superhero type heroes is not fun if the publisher obsesses over making it competitive over fun.

          • ForeVision

Here’s the thing, Overwatch is being classified by most as part of an emergent genre known as the “hero shooter” with emphasis on abilities, ultimates and classes, hence why it doesn’t fall in the same line as an arena shooter, and doesn’t need to be as “fast” as an arena shooter.

I’ve played the game on competitive level at gold rank, as well as on quick play. It’s not supposed to be fast, as then there’d be no real “tug of war”. There’s a reason why there’s one, really fast character with 150 HP and one, slow character with 600 HP.

And yes, team-play is the name of the game. The right setup can destroy the enemy team and win you the game, that’s EXACTLY the point of it.

          • ben

I used to feel the game was good but it got too repetitive and I had to play a lot solo with people who were just not very good. I did play some good team play when I could but it was difficult to get a group together.
The problem with the hero genre and the counter system is it is not really true. It was Blizzards intention to make the game based on counters etc,. But now the meta characters are the characters with the least counters and the rest of the characters in the hero pool are basically considered trash.

          • ForeVision

“But now the meta characters are the characters with the least counters
and the rest of the characters in the hero pool are basically considered
trash.” But that can easily be identified as cookie cutting, which is a whole different problem on a far larger scale.

Name any one game with builds, any one game with particular setups of characters that does not suffer from this. Many games do, Diablo 3 being a perfect example: The higher up in the rifts one goes, the narrower to non-existent the build variety is. I personally hate cookie cutting, but I also recognize that it’s a bit of human nature to always look for the optimal path and stick to it, especially if the game gives you no other choice on higher difficulties.

As for the game being rather trashy when played alone, yes I vehemently agree with that, but so can one state it of DotA, of League of Legends, of basically any game that requires close, coordinated team-play.

          • ben

I might try it again when I get time but it is really hard to get a group together. I am on a different time zone to most of my friends. What I found was during season 1 and 2 there were enough solo people who wanted to work together that it was still fun. In season 3 that went down the toilet.

          • ForeVision

Haven’t noticed much of the down the toilet part so far, but we may be on different servers, considering that I’m in Europe.

          • ben

            I am in Asia…

          • ForeVision

I know that, but do you also play on the Asian servers? I see plenty of non-Europeans on European servers across many games.

          • ben

I haven’t played on the European servers for a long while because that place was toxic as hell with people shouting racist stuff. But it might be better now. I sometimes play on American servers.

    Wow, what a lame excuse.

Isn’t Blizzard swimming in millions? They could afford the resources for one more port, especially the “easy to develop” Nintendo Switch.

But nooooo, it seems it’s just too much work.

  • The truth-ier

we dont want to sacrifice quality to bring it to the switch, it has less of everything, but we will send our kid games, and put some indy games that obviously wont be as intensive as the new red dead game coming out. But we will not be mean about it, we will use our PR teams to say this nicely- Development community

    • nemo37

“we dont want to sacrifice quality to bring it to the switch”
Nah…if they cared about graphics they would not have brought it to your favorite system, the Xbox One.

“but we will send our kid games”
Yeah because Skyrim is a kids game. And Overwatch has such adult themes…lol

    • ben

Blizzard does not make any of those games.. wow.. just wow..

  • nemo37

I like that they are being up front about the situation. If they are able to get the game to run well on the hardware and are confident enough to take the risk and commit supporting it, then I would love for them to bring this (along with potentially Heartstone and Diablo III) over. I hope that like Sony and MS, Nintendo works with Blizzard and other third-parties in general and provides some incentives to develop for them (I know, for example, Sony and MS, sometimes partner with AAA-developers and cover part of the marketing and/or development costs, which is important for third-parties because these games are expensive and so there is a greater risk associated with them).

  • Tlink7

All these developers making excuses on not bringing games to the Switch… ”Right now it isn’t profitable for us to port our game” is what they should be saying. None of the problems Kaplan listed can’t be solved by more money

    • Velen (Not WoW)

When you try boiling it down to nothing but a matter of money, you ignore the nuances of development in the process.

      • making games is about money

      • Tlink7

Really? ”We don’t have enough people to develop four versions” then hire more people. What nuances would be lost?

  • awng781

    So it’s probably not coming…
    🙁

  • Pachirisu

I’ve always wanted to play this, but my PC is terrible. I think the only game that runs good is American Mcgee’s Alice LMAO.

I’m also a nintendo kind of dude so getting the PS4/XBONE version is not an option for me either lol

  • Melatelo

Translation: If this thing sells bucket loads we will only then consider porting it over.

  • Artie Anzaldua

Why is this guy acting like there’s hope for Overwatch on the Switch? Just stop! Say what you mean Kaplan! You’re not trying to develop for Nintendo so don’t leave a door open that’s gonna lead out to a 20 foot drop!

  • John Paul Francisco

So heartstone for Switch is possible?

  • Locky Mavo

I’d like some shooters to come to the Switch, but Overwatch isn’t really one I’d personally care for. It’d be cool if it did sure, but I’d rather something like Time Splitters, Boarderlands, Conduit, or Perfect Dark (and yes I know PD is owned by MS now). I guess all I want is a shooter with a decent campaign and multiplayer (potentially local and online), not just an online only one.
