Update: Inaccurate – Smash Bros. Wii U release date to be announced during Friday’s Treehouse stream

Update: Sadly, Kotaku’s report was inaccurate. Nintendo has confirmed that the release date will not be announced, but we can look forward to more information about the game.

During today’s GameStop conference, a Nintendo representative confirmed that a release date for Smash Bros. Wii U will be announced this Friday. You can expect the news to drop sometime during the Treehouse stream. As a reminder, the event will kick off at 1 PM ET / 10 AM PT.
