tinyBuild shares an update on Mr. Shifty’s optimization patch

Posted on May 11, 2017 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Switch eShop

tinyBuild has been hard at work on a patch for Mr. Shifty. Once released, it should improve the game’s performance – specifically frame rate. The team was hoping to have it ready this week, but it’s taking a bit longer than expected.

tinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik said today that the “patch is simply too big. This is because the Unity plugin we’re using for export is brand new, and tends to package in a bit too many unnecessary information, bloating the size.” tinyBuild is now working with Unity to address this as well as reduce the overall size of Mr. Shifty on Switch.

When we have more news to report about the patch, we’ll let you know.

This game has quite a few bugs even on the PC version: level loads black showing only your shifty bar where you have no choice but to restart the entire level. The last level freezed on me and several others as well, which was infuriating since its no walk in the park. “Shifty” controls where he won’t materialize past objects (i.e wall for me) at times.

This game is complete trash. I should be able to play game when I have time available, not when the developer has time to make patches to post deliver a product. They say time is money. Well in this case this developer certainly took a large share of people’s time waiting for it to be fixed.

    The hell with this game!
