Warner Bros. confirms the end of LEGO Dimensions

Posted on October 23, 2017 by (@NE_Brian) in News, Wii U

A report emerged last week that Warner Bros. has put an end to LEGO Dimensions. Today, the news has been officially confirmed.

LEGO Dimensions will not be receiving any new packs in the future. Existing content will still be sold, however, and support will continue to be provided.

The LEGO Dimensions Twitter account published the following message a short while ago:

      2; Starlink.

Cannot say I am surprised. Buuuut they had a better business model for their game.

  • MagcargoMan

It’s kinda a shame but at the same time toys-to-life was an utterly cancerous practice.

    • BlueMaxwell

Ironic condering this is form a fan Nintendo website
Ya know, the company that dose the SAME THING and gets praised for it?

      • MagcargoMan

I’ve never praised locking content behind amiibos though.

  • Exposer

    Nobody cried…

    • Coonfoot

I’m more calmly disappointed than crying. Now the loss of Disney Infinity? THAT made me cry.

  • AquaBat

Well then, toys-to-life is very likely dead at this point.

I think there was that one game at E3 but I can guarantee that won’t last.

  • Coonfoot

Well, that’s a shame. There were still several franchises I wanted in it…

    • Yeah that is sucks I enjoy collector some Lego dimensions

  • Snackster1001

Well, I guess I’ll consider getting it now. I only like to play games that are complete, and this is the only toys to life thing that has interested me besides amiibo (skylanders is generic trash and disney infinity looked boring for the characters it has)

On the plus side, there might be a collector’s market building soon for LEGO Dimensions items. The fact that it will be discontinued coupled with a general interest by many people in collecting LEGO stuff might bump up prices for Dimensions items by a lot down the line, especially for licenses that LEGO doesn’t make playsets for otherwise (Sonic, Portal, Powerpuff Girls, etc.).
