Its funny how i just randomly said let me try and update my wiiu and there happens to be an actual update that came out a few minutes earlier……… I think I play this stuff too much

  • Purple3DSXL

Glad to know we got folders now!

  • Snackster1001

Folders is actually pretty good. Some people have been complaining about running out of slots on their wii u menu. Glad to see it added

    • Sanya Marshall

Whoa people actually fill them all up

      • Operative

once you reach the last page it’ll add another page. So you can never really run out of little slots

        • Blake Good

It’s happening with me right now, what do I do? I have like 15 GB of space on my internal memory and 52 GB on my flash drive. This is some serious bull$hit, Nintendo! Also I have 14 folders; NES (1), NES (2), SNES, N64, GBA (1), GBA (2), DS, Wii, Wii U, eShop, Apps, Video, and Misc.

My Wii U is in another country, so I can’t tell you how pained I am to hear this.

I have been eagerly anticipating folders on that system for some time.

Europe? Still has an update to install

  • ZeroxGM

    Finally folders lol

  • sonicfan1373

    Hooray for organization 😀

I cannot wait to get home and update

  • Juan Bocanegra

helllllllo please take off the splot screen from mario kart 8 for two plauer mode its annoying

  • Berezau

I’m pretty happy with the folder concept. Time to put the VC collection into one of it’s own… perhaps even game series folders.

  • Kallumsmarties

I love the fact you can choose colours for the folders. Much better than having everything blue. Definitely put a lot of thought into this. I like it.

Wii U is such an underrated console.

  • DrGhettoblaster

Folder, nice. Now if Sony would just follow this lead…

PS4 is in desperate need of two things; 1) Game and app organization and 2) VIDEO PLAYBACK!!

One of the best features on the PS3 was the fact that it was an all-in-one entertainment machine. The fact that I can’t watch MP4s, AVIs, or any other format on my PS4 is just idiotic.

      • ps4 aint gon put no video playback on there. they want you to pay them to watch movies

      • Skarnet

Use the WiiU as your mediacenter. Stream shows and sports while browsing on gamepad, use plex for streaming your own pc files, while browsing on gamepad, watch youtube while browsing on the gamepad, watch netflix, hulu or amazon instant or watch all this stuff on the gamepad with headphones in bed. Possibilities are almost endless 😉

be cool if Wii U followed Xbox one monthly updates, and new features, Wii U needs more awesome features

    • Skarnet

Is there anything it can’t do? and yes i know the discdrive is not dvd/bluray player, but besides that?

      • sonicfan1373

Here are a few improvements I would personally like to see:

-System wide voice/video chat (probably will not be possible because certain games have to change)

-On-screen in-game notifications (once again probably will not be possible due to the way certain games that are already out use resources)

        – A Music and Video app that play DRM-free files off of an SD Card; a photo displaying app would also be nice

        -Home screen themes

-NNID accounts not being tied to hardware would also be great

F Yeah! Bro , Folders that’s all the Wii U gets

  • LazerTurkey

I’m surprised they didn’t add folders earlier… better late than never.

I’m glad they changed it to say “Close Software” and “Resume” now. Every time I press the Home Button and suspend a game, I have to make sure I don’t close the game on accident. The buttons previously read, “Close Software” and “Close Menu” or something along those lines. Now they’re different colors worded better.

Gotta love Nintendo. Michael Pachter, and fanboy extremist keep putting the Wii U, but they keep going about their business, improving their hardware with firmware updates, and creating goodwill among their consumer base.

    • D2K

In all fairness, Nintendo adding features that should have been there in the first place can hardly be called “improvements.” If you’re at a restaurant and they mess up your order and you have to wait a long time for them to correct it, I seriously doubt the term “goodwill” comes to mind. We are just correcting errors.

Real improvement would be to stop making egregious errors in the first place. Just because Michael Pachter is a professional troll and it is downright criminal that he actually gets paid a salary, that doesn’t mean that he’s a hundred percent wrong on everything. I like to give the kids a reward for cleaning up the room BEFORE I tell them to do it. Hopefully when their new console comes out in about 3 or 4 years they will be more on the ball and actually ask us what we want at the beginning rather than later. In fact, they probably should be asking now since its already being developed.

      • Agreed. I am still waiting for an update to be able to flip the Gamepad in a vertical way to read articles on the Web Browser more comfortably as it was advertised before the console was released. And that is just one of many, many things.

        • bradley

Lol I thought I was the only one that wanted to do that, when I bought my wii u I tried turning the game pad while browsing and nothing happened, I then read the manual and after a lot of attempts with no progress I forgot about it thinking I was mistaken

          • Sometimes I just want to lay in bed and read articles on the browser. I can, but it gets tiring grabbing the Gamepad with both hands. And grabbing it with one is even more tiring. This could be resolve if the Gamepad was able to be flipped vertically. It would be so much better for long reads.

Did anybody else get that new Nintendo Network terms of use and stuff agreement today ? What did it say ? my girlfriend and I were going to play Mario Kart 8 so we skipped it… I hope it’s not like the PS4 agreement that makes you accept that you will loose your rights to sue Sony or demand anything from them in case you get a defective product or any other kind of problem like if your credit card information gets stolen like when they hacked the PSN, that’s the reason why it’s been over a year and Sony still hasn’t fixed the stupid error ce-34878-0, because legally they don’t have to, the only solution they’ve given is to format your ps4…

  • Kitty Kate

nice …. but I’m still waiting for the day that my games are tied to my account, rather than my machine, so I can buy a second unit for the basement tv.

    • Skarnet

retail discs… and your digital games ARE tied to your account. your account is tied to the machine and can be untied by Nintendo. There’s a WiiU to WiiU transfer now if you get a new machine and wan’t your stuff on the new one instead, but they are not yet allowing you to share games between consoles unless it’s retail discs…

  • D2K

Well, It’s good that they are fixing things.

  • Adrian Brown

    Oh God, so much better

  • Granpapá Oso

    *updating* (3 min left.)

  • Guest

the badass hyrule warriors music for eShop came with the update or was that already there??

    • jorden1506

For Europe it’s allready there for like 1,5 weeks now

  • WolfyZA

Wonder if the Wii U will ever release an DLNA update? That would totally make my day.

    • TalesOfBS

That would be a huge plus.

    • Skarnet

for what? what would you need this for? I can stream all i want on the wiiu already???

  • TalesOfBS

Well done Nintendo! A bit late but better than never.
Now bring some home menu themes and we are all set!

  • lassenwolf

More worthless stuff. The wiiu has become useless and boring. No use for the camera/video. no real voice chat. No apps, music or trophies and no real use for online. It is just behind the times.

    • Skarnet

      retarted troll

  • Joseph Klemm

Folders to separate my Virtual Console games a la how I use them on the 3DS. ‘Nuff Said.

  • Skarnet

BIG UPDATE ON THE UPDATE!: You can now enter the vwii (wii menu) without a tv connected; hold b on startup and a prompt will tell you to press + on a wii remote to display only on the gamepad 🙂
