Based on data provided by Circana’s PlayerPulse, 52 percent of Switch consoles are female owned in the United States. Circana was previously known as NPD and provides monthly sales figures in the region.

You might be curious as to how Switch’s number compares to other platforms. Nintendo’s console has the highest amount of female users, but 50 percent of gaming PCs are female owned. The next closest is Xbox Series with 45 percent. PlayStation 5 is the lowest at 41 percent. Again, this applies to the United States only.

As for 2023 as a whole in the United States, 47 percent of console video game players are female. Also in case you’re curious, 50 percent of PC video game players are female and 54 percent of mobile video game players are female. Each one of these stats is a 1 percent increase year-over-year.

Nintendo has previously spoken about the impact of female users on Switch. In 2019 for example, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser said more female consumers are buying Switch Lite over the original system. You can read more about that here.
