Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 7 Star Meganium Guide

The 7 Star Meganium Tera Raid Battle event for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is live now. It’s a little bit easier than some of the raid events we’ve seen recently, but it still poses a decent challenge on its own. The event runs until April 7, and then comes back from April 12 to April 14. If you don’t have any Pokemon ready for the first wave, you’ve got a few days to train up a counter. We’ve put together a couple of good suggestions for the event below.

For this event, 7 Star Meganium is running Tera Psychic. This gives it weaknesses to Bug, Dark, and Ghost-type moves. At the beginning of the match, it uses both Reflect and Light Screen to boost its defenses. It uses Curse to up its Attack and Defense, and then Body Press off of its boosted Defense stat to KO Dark-types. Meganium also has Seed Bomb, Zen Headbutt, and Bulldoze as its coverage moves. This means critical hits work really well here!

As per usual, Gholdengo works wonders. It resists Seed Bomb and is immune to Body Press, and it can use Nasty Plot to fire off some strong Tera Ghost Shadow Balls. Another good idea is Bronzong, who can run Metal Sound and Tera Ghost Shadow Ball. Arceus-Ghost is a fantastic option, and can run Judgment, Acid Spray, and then Brick Break to shatter Meganium’s Reflect and Light Screen. We’d also recommend running something with Chilling Water. It’s important to note that Imprison doesn’t work on Tera Raid Battle events, so if you had the idea to Imprison Body Press and run a Dark-type, that won’t work. It’s a shame, because Urshifu would work great here otherwise! If you still have the event Mew from a while back, a Tera Ghost one with a combination of Chilling Water, Shadow Ball, Reflect, and Life Dew.
