This week’s issue of Famitsu reveals Super Bike Rider: Gather! Super Beast Hunter, the latest Bike Rider entry for 3DS. The magazine has some extensive details about Spicysoft’s new game. It has the prefix “Super”, which means all aspects are being upgraded.
One of the new features is “Bike Super Beast”. Enemies will drop parts, and by combining them you’ll be able to obtain Bike Super Beasts with excellent stats. In total there are over 40 Bike Super Beasts.
In Story Mode, seven worlds are included, each one with about ten courses each. Waiting at the end of each world are Super Beasts, which are animals enlarged to giants and turned berserk by the evil Team Sugar. Each world will have a mid-boss and an end-boss. When fighting end-bosses, the screen will be fixed and you’ll whittle down the boss’s health. Players should use the various gimmicks and power-up items available on the screen to fight these bosses.
Also new is “Super Time Attack Mode”. This has players taking on time attacks on all normal courses in a single world, omitting the boss battles. You can freely choose any Bike Super Beasts you’ve acquired (though you won’t be able to change it mid-stage), and you can also utilize their special abilities to finish faster. There is also a worldwide online ranking available.
Lastly, Super Bike Rider has a 4-player versus multiplayer mode. The objective here is to collect the most stars. However, you’ll lose the stars if you hit other players or damaging gimmicks like spikes.
Super Bike Rider will also have a bunch of collaboration DLC. This includes a 10-stage set where the player becomes Kamen Rider Ghost, destroy enemies, and move to the goal with your motorcycle. Another piece of DLC is where a popular-in-Japan dancer duo Explosion becomes the player character, and also features 10-stage set. Both DLC items will be published at the same time of the game’s release date. Other collaborations will be available in a once-per-month pace, such as Monster Hunter X and Steins;Gate.
Famitsu’s article also provides an exclusive code that can be inputted in-game to unlock a special bike. This is deigned to be similar to a controller of a certain game console.
Super Bike Rider: Gather! Super Beast Hunter arrives in Japan on February 24 for 630 yen.
