[Let’s Talk] Nintendo and movies

One of the bigger news stories from the past week came from Tatsumi Kimishima’s new interview with Asahi. While talking with the publication, Kimishima revealed some pretty big plans for the company’s pursuit of movies. Nintendo is really looking to get into this entertainment field and hopes to produce something within the next few years.

Aside from that, there’s not too much to go on. Kimishima did indicate that Nintendo is more interested in animation than live-action at this point. He also suggested that they could work with partners.

I think Rowlet is my favorite. He has a bowtie and the playfulness of him twisting his head is pretty new. Especially since our last owl pokemon was probably Hoot-Hoot and Noctowl in gen 2. Litten is great but in the era of cat videos, not as interesting to me. Popplio’s design is great but he’s a water Pokemon so there’s inherently a distance.

Gen 7 is looking pretty good to me. It reminds me of Pokémon Colosseum/XD: GOD in a way. I was Team Sun…. until I saw the Moon Legendary and since I love bats, I’m getting Pokémon Moon. Also, I’m going to getting Popplio. I know he ain’t the popular choice, but Popplio is cute and I like the whole clown thing with them. So It’s Team Popplio for me.
