Rayman Legends Definitive Edition tech analysis

Digital Foundry published yet another technical analysis today. With Rayman Legends Definitive Edition releasing on Switch today, the outlet has taken a look at how the game performs. There are some surprising finds here.

To begin, Rayman Legends Definitive Edition runs at 1080p while docked. It mostly runs at 60 frames per second, but a few dips may pop up occasionally. Strangely, the frame rate issues seem to be sorted out after you’ve died once in a level.

The first problem with Rayman Legends Definitive Edition concerns loading. Unfortunately, loading here is longer than any other version of the game. You may sometimes be forced to wait up to sixteen seconds for levels to be ready. Worth noting, Digital Foundry tested Rayman Legends Definitive Edition when it was installed within Switch’s memory, which is the fastest way to play games on the system. Digital Foundry theorizes that the longer loading times could be related to file compression.

We should also mention that Rayman Legends Definitive Edition lacks co-op multiplayer with one person using touchscreen controls. Also missing is the ability to play with five players simultaneously.

Take a look at the full analysis from Digital Foundry below.
