Top 10 best-selling physical games of 2019 in the UK
Every week, we’ve been posting the best-selling physical games in the UK. Data collector GfK has now compiled the sales data for whole year, giving us the top 10 best-selling physical games in the UK in 2019, as reported by gamesindustry.biz:

As you can see, two Switch exclusive titles made the list in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Pokemon Sword. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is especially noteworthy as it originally came out in 2017. Perhaps even more amazing is that it managed to sell more copies in 2019 than it did in 2018 – in that year, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe “only” sold 458,000 copies, roughly 7,000 less than in 2019.
You’ll also notice that only Pokemon Sword is listed here. Combined with Pokemon Shield, both games sold just under 430,000 copies.
