Shin Megami Tensei V daily demon vol. 194 – Chimera

As part of the latest demon trailer for Shin Megami Tensei V, Atlus is offering up a close look at the creature known as Chimera. This one has been around for awhile now going back to Megami Tensei. It’s appeared in most of the mainline games since then, as well as other titles including Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner, Persona Q, and Persona 5.

The Megami Tensei Wiki has a little bit of extra information about Chimera. You can find a brief overview of the demon below.

Chimera is the monster offspring of Typhon and Echidna from Greek mythology, and is the sibling of Cerberus and Orthrus. This monster breathes fire and is made up of parts from different animals; the general ones being the body and head of a lion, with a goat’s head sprouting in the middle, and a snake’s head for a tail. Other accounts include the Chimera being a three-headed animal, with a dragon being the third head.
