With Kirby and the Forgotten Land having just launched a couple of days ago, all eyes will be on the game from a sales performance. Many have been interested in seeing if the title will be breaking out given how its the series’ first true 3D entry.

Thankfully, there’s already good news to report. We’re hearing that Kirby and the Forgotten Land managed to have the biggest Kirby launch ever. Additionally, this was “by a big margin,” according to GamesIndusty reporter Christopher Dring. Dring further states that the Switch game is already the fifth biggest Kirby game ever in the UK after only a week.

Given that information, it’s perhaps unsurprising that Kirby and the Forgotten Land was the top-selling boxed game in the UK last week. The only competition for new titles was Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, which took the #2 spot.

You might be interested to hear that despite Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s early success, Metroid Dread actually outperformed it slightly. Metroid has always been seen as a niche series, but Dread did have the franchise’s biggest launch in UK history last year.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is now available on Switch.
