The Super Mario Bros. Movie premiere date moved forward to April 5
The Super Mario Bros. Movie will debut a little earlier than expected, as the film is now set to premiere on April 5, 2023. It was most recently on track for April 7. That’s not a huge change, but fans will be happy to hear that they’ll be able to see the movie a couple of days earlier.
Note that this change applies to the United States “and in more than 60 markets around the world.” Other marks will see the film in April and May. For Japan specifically, the movie is opening on April 28.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie will feature Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike. Fans can also look forward to cameos from Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario in the games.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie was originally planned to hit theaters on December 21, 2022. Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario, previously apologized for the delay but promised that it would be “well worth the wait.”
