boo locations Luigi's Mansion 2 HD

Today, we’ve put together a list of all the Boo locations in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.

Boos are one of two main collectibles found in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD – in addition to gems, which we’ve already covered. Whereas some gems can be collected in several different missions, there is strictly one Boo per mission. Basically, discovering Boos requires the Dark-Light Device, which you don’t obtain until after the first few missions in the Gloomy Manor. Despite this, the first couple of levels do indeed have Boos, which means you’ll have to go back and replay them after you obtain the Dark-Light Device. To reveal a Boo, you will need to reveal a hidden furniture item with your Dark-Light Device and then suck up the spirit pieces to reveal it. From there, continue using your Dark-Light Device to bring the Boo out of hiding, and then grab its tongue and pull to deal damage to it.

Boogie Woogie (Garage, A-1)

A-1 Boogie Woogie

Head back to this level after obtaining the Dark-Light Device and use it in the top-right corner of the Garage.

BaBoon (Mudroom, A-2)

A-2 Boo locations

You’ll need to go back to this level after obtaining the Dark-Light Device, too. In the Mudroom, there is an invisible table on the south end of the room. Reveal it to uncover this Boo.

Boo Boo (Studio, A-3)

A-3 Boo Boo

In the Studio, the painting has gone missing. Reveal it with your Dark-Light Device to uncover this hidden Boo.

Unnamed Boo (Dining Room, A-4)

A-4 Boo Locations

This Boo doesn’t have a name, and you will automatically find him in the Dining Room as you progress through the story. This is also the first level where you obtain the Dark-Light Device.

Boothoven (Library, A-5)

In the Library’s bottom floor, the piano has gone missing. Reveal it with your Dark-Light Device to uncover one of the trickier Gloomy Manor Boos.

Mamboo (Hydro Generator, B-1)

B-1 Boo locations

Use your Dark-Light Device to the left of the treasure chest to uncover a cabinet.

Boolean (Sewer, B-2)

B-2 Boolean

Head to the Sewer and use your Poltergust to suck up the vines hanging from the ceiling. This will reveal a hidden Boo – you only need the Dark-Light Device to defeat it!

Booluga (Crypt, B-3)

B-3 Boo locations

In the Crypt (the room with the Toad’s painting), there is a hidden jar on the right side. Uncover it to reveal a hidden Boo.

Boo B. Trap (Family Room, B-4)

B-4 Boo locations

Use the Dark-Light Device to uncover a secret portrait in between the ones on the left and right wall. Then inspect the painting to reveal the Boo.

French Boodle (Tool Shed, B-5)

B-5 French Boodle

Every piece of furniture in the Tool Shed has disappeared. Reveal them all with your Dark-Light Device to uncover another one of the hidden Boo locations.

ComBooter (Warehouse, C-1)

C-1 Boo locations

In this room, there is a machine you can place ribbons into to have them destroyed, revealing what’s inside. Grab a red ribbon at the right end of the Warehouse and have it unraveled, revealing this Boo inside.

Bootine (Quarry, C-2)

C-2 Bootine

After the room has been filled up with sand, use your Dark-Light Device to reveal a hidden bridge. Suck up the spirit orbs to reveal another one of the Old Clockworks Boo locations.

Boodonkulous (Kiln Room, C-3)

C-3 Boo locations

Boodonkulous is one of the game’s required Boo locations. In other words, you will automatically meet and defeat him as you progress the mission’s story. You can’t miss him!

JamBoolaya (Clock Tower Gate, C-4)

C-4 JamBoolaya

On each side of the Clock Tower Gate is a hanging lantern. At least, there’s supposed to be! The one on the right is gone, so reveal it with your Dark-Light Device to find this Boo.

Boony Raboot (Crank Room, C-5)

C-5 Boo locations

Head inside a hidden alcove on the upper level and use your Dark-Light Device to uncover a hidden crate. One of the trickier Boo locations is inside!

Boofoon (Terminal, D-1)

D-1 Boofoon

At one point in the mission, you’ll notice a curtain covering the ice mirror in this room. Suck it up, and then reveal a nearby barrel to uncover another one of the hidden Boos.

Booger (Chalet, D-2)

D-2 Boo locations

There is a hidden rocking chair in this room that you can reveal with your Dark-Light Device. Do so and you’ll reveal another Boo location!

ParaBoola (Deep Hall, D-3)

D-3 ParaBoola

There is a hidden pot in the Deep Hall that’s hanging on the left of the branch above the campfire. Reveal it to uncover the final Secret Mine Boo location!

Boolldog (Underground Lab, E-1)

E-1 Boo locations

After the Greenies leave the room, use the Poltergust on the nearby wheel to electrocute the suit of armor and reveal the hidden Boo.

Boopa Troopa (Inner Courtyard, E-2)

E-2 Boopa Troopa

This is another one of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD’s required Boo locations. You’ll automatically find and defeat Boopa Troopa as you progress through the mission.

Booreaucrat (Dark Age Exhibit, E-3)

E-3 Boo locations

Head to the Study and suck up a balloon fruit. Then, use the portals to head to the Dark Age Exhibit and use the balloon fruit to float to the upper level. Once there, you’ll find a gold balloon fruit, so suck that one up instead. This will begin a coin minigame in which you float around to collect them all. Do so, and a treasure chest with Booreaucrat inside is your “reward” (if you can call it that).

Big Boo (Train Exhibit, E-4)

This is a required boss fight, but it also counts as this level’s Boo location. Once you defeat Big Boo, it counts as ten small Boos in the vault.

MaraBoo (Aviation Exhibit, E-5)

E-5 MaraBoo

This is the final Boo in the game! Use your Dark-Light Device to reveal the hidden hot air balloon. With that, you’ve done it – you have uncovered all of the hidden Boo locations in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. Great work!
