[Let’s Talk] What are you playing? – August 2024
A new month just started up this week. Now that we’re in August, we want to know what you’ve been playing.
Have you been busy with Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition? How about other games like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate or Star Wars: Bounty Hunter? No matter the case, let us know in the comments below.
Highlights from last week’s topic: Which Nintendo franchise should be revived?

Instead of going with the usual, I’m going to say Battalion Wars. Its action-RTS gameplay was great fun and something that hasn’t been done much besides Brutal Legend.
Gimme remakes of the first two and a new entry with a massive online multiplayer mode. And do another Advance Wars while you’re at it.

Well with Famicom Detective Club fully back from the dead but also looking like it’s going to have an ending that makes sequels impossible, and Kyle Hyde 1+2 HD already in production in some form at ASW, next on the list is Famicom Fairytales, followed by the single games of Famicom Pocket Books and Time Twist.
They had to make high quality assets of Time Twist for the Famicom 40th site so its less forgotten than Star Tropics.

Kinda surprised nobody has mentioned Tomodachi Life as the 3DS entry recently celebrated its 10th anniversary (11th anniversary in Japan). Unlike some franchises that others have listed, this IP has sold multiple millions of copies, so there wouldn’t be any concern around return on investment.

I really want an new Kid Icarus game, Sin and Punishment and Star Fox. I know that the Earthbound series is finished so a new game is almost impossible, but an remake of the entire series in some kind of HD-2D with improvements and quality of life changes, specially for Mother 1. It would also be an way to finally release mother 3 outside of japan

I’ll always be in the want of a Golden Sun remake, something in the vein of Dragon Quest XI. And a sequel to Dark Dawn.
I’d also like to see a remaster and sequel of Ever Oasis.
But some left field revivals like Mysterious Murasame Castle or Star Tropics could be cool too.

A few series come to mind:
-Golden Sun. Reboot the series, cut useless dialogue, fix pacing issues, join the first 2 games into one, implement difficulty options and better enviromental puzzles.
-Chibi Robo, first game remake with the BotW engine.
-The Last Story, HD remaster, allow us to play MP offline with bots, fix slowdown (ok only 1 game, not really a franchise, but I really want it back).
-Magical Vacation/Starsign. Collection with the first 2 games and then a new game, let 1Up Studio go crazy with it.
