Ship of Fools getting “Alphy’s Project” update and more

A bunch of new stuff has been announced for Ship of Fools, including an “Alphy’s Project” update, Pew Pew Mode, plus new DLC with Golden Bay Duo and Thunder Tide Duo. Everything will be available on April 24, 2025.

The update will be entirely free. Players can look forward to four new fools, new options for runs, and new quality of life features! 

We’ve got the following details:

Alphy’s Project

Hold and behold Pelly and Alphy! The ultimate partners in crime (and construction)! These two have landed in the Archipelago with a grand mission: restoring every broken structure to its former glory!

Your job? Gather materials on your journey and bring them back to The Great Lighthouse Island so Alphy can unlock powerful new items and… well… Pelly?

Pelly, on the other hand, will be laying eggs—but not just any ordinary eggs! These eggs hold space-time-altering properties, adding an extra layer of foolishness to your adventure once incubating!

Each egg introduces a unique, togglable game modifier, because who doesn’t love absolute chaos? And here is the first one!

Pew Pew Mode

Pelly’s first-ever egg, the Pew Pew Egg, does something truly unhinged:

It replaces every. single. sound effect. in the game… With mouth-crafted masterpieces.

Yes, you heard that right. Over 400+ sound effects and 32 complete songs have been remade a cappella by our very own Ship of Fools dev team. What started as an April Fool’s joke in 2023 has now become a fully realized (and completely ridiculous) feature, thanks to the incredible talent of our composer, Philippe Grant, and the sheer foolishness of our team.

Golden Bay Duo

On the same day, two new Fools packs are getting released as DLC! The first one is the Golden Bay Duo introducing Commodore Goldie and Hanah!

Both characters bring a new gameplay mechanic, allowing them to spend Sand Dollars to overcharge their reflect action, unleashing game-changing abilities!

Prepare to unleash shocking new strategies with The Thunder Tide Duo! This electrifying Pack of Fools introduces two eccentric new characters—mad scientists of high Aquademic renown who harness the power of static electricity to zap their foes into the bottomless abyss!

Both characters utilize a new gameplay mechanic that lets them roll to generate static charges. These charges build up and release into increasingly powerful electric effects!

Note that there are also plans for a Completely Foolish Edition of Ship of Fools, featuring the base game, soundtrack, and the four packs of fools for a grand total of eighteen playable characters.
