Pokemon Legends: Z-A 1.0.1 update out now, patch notes

Pokemon Legends: Z-A is coming with its own day one update, which is version 1.0.1. If you’ve pre-installed the game on either Nintendo Switch 2 or Switch, you should be able to access it already in time for launch this week.

The patch notes are straightforward but ultimately this is a pretty important update. Without it, it sounds like you won’t be able to access online functionality.

The official notice reads:

Pokemon Legends: Z-A version 1.0.1 update patch notes

• We have added data that needs to be updated in order to play online features

Trading is a staple of the series, and that will once again be supported here. But another notable feature is online multiplayer with the real-time “Battle Club” mode. We have details on that here.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A will come to Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch worldwide this Thursday, October 16.
