Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland first official details and screenshots
Koei Tecmo and Gust Corporation have shared the first official details and screenshots for the newly-announced Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland. We’ve rounded up all of the news below, courtesy of Gematsu.
Story
– Following the events of Atelier Totori and Atelier Meruru comes an all new story
– Set in a world proceeding the story of Atelier Meruru
– Depicts how characters and locations have changed over time
– Set in a world both nostalgic and new
Elmerulia Fryxell (Lulua)
– An impulsive, yet devoted young girl
– Daughter of Rorona
– Occupation: Alchemist
– Wants to become an alchemist like Rorona
– She works hard under a certain teacher, but does not have outstanding talent
– One day, an opportunity arises for her
– An energetic girl whose body tends to act before thinking
– Lulua looks at everything in a positive light
– She seems to live with her teacher in a place away from Rorona
Eva Armster
– A dear childhood friend
– Always at Lulua’s side, watching over her like a guardian angel
– Occupation: Nursery School Assistant
– She has a quiet personality
– Eva is of strong character
– She does not show weakness in front of others and is very dependable, but in front of Lulua and others she trusts she reveals a side that can easily succumb to loneliness
Systems
– Synthesis, exploration, and battle defines the Atelier series
– While maintaining a system that fans of the Arland series will be familiar with at its core, this title also continues to evolve the system
– Extracts the essence of the system, which has continued to be cultivated, all the way up from the series’ roots to its latest numbered title
– A unique melding of such elements makes possible an entirely new gaming experience
– A “book” also appears in the game’s logo with abstract words
– Exploration and synthesis have been upgraded
– Places and items familiar to Arland series players will appear in great numbers
– Uses an Atelier Totori-like discovery system
– As for other Arland series systems, there are several being used as a base and deepened
– The battle system and the like introduce new systems based on the Mysterious series
