It’s been a while since we’ve had a character reveal, but today Ike has been confirmed for the newest Wii U and 3DS battles! Sakurai had this to say:

Ike, the swordsman of magnificent strength, joins the battle!! Strike your foes down with his powerful smash attacks.

He also went into a bit of detail about his appearance this time around:

For this game, Ike’s design is based on the hero that appears in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. His sword deals heavy damage in Smash Bros., so this design suits him very well! Rest assured, he can use Aether as well.

The official screenshots for Ike’s release can be found below.

Courtesy of the game’s official website, we’ve got a few more Hyrule Warrior screens focusing on the info that was announced in the last day.

Coming from an official PR email, Nintendo have announced that with every purchase of Tomodachi Life, players will also be given 2 download codes of Tomodachi Life: Welcome Version. This lite version of the game can be gifted to other systems and will allow players to create up to 3 Mii characters with the personality traits and voices that will be used in game. Miis will also have access to an island exclusive to the demo that upon completion will unlock 1 of 8 rare panda suit items for use in the full game.

Colours, colours everywhere! Sakurai gets into the nitty gritty of mirroring character models today:

The leg and arm positions of some characters will automatically be mirrored when facing left or right. Mario, for example, will have his chest shown in the foreground regardless of whether he’s facing right or left. This was quite a tedious task, but thanks to it we can show the best features of each character even better.

He also provides an example of how it was before this change:

Here’s another example: in the previous games, you saw the back of Kirby’s head when facing left. Now Kirby looks great from any angle.
