A significant amount of EX Troopers details have been described from the latest issue of Famitsu. While there isn’t much information about gameplay, we do have an update on the game’s story and other area.
We’ll hear more about Ex Troopers soon, as it’ll be playable at the Capcom Summer Jam event ( held on June 30 and July 1). For now, read up on the known details below.
– School-themed story
– Looks like a science fiction Justice Gakuen
– “Manga demo” event system used between stages
– This is similar to Vita’s Gravity Rush
– May’n will be used as the theme song
– Story based on the snow pirates and Akrid aliens on EDN-3rd
– Play as Bren Turner
– Turner is a young man who has come to the academy from EDN-2nd
– TeeKee: female snow pirate, can communicate with the Akrid
– Gingira: Vital Suit that contains next generation AI and can communicate with its pilot
– Gingira calls Bren “Master”
– EDN-3rd planet has three bases with unique traits
– Choose one of these planets to be your base of operations
– The three bases figure into the story, as while Bren comes from one base, other members of the academy come from different bases
– Producer Shintaro Kojima says the project started with the hope of making a beginners’ action shooter
– Shares the same world setting as Lost Planet, but Kojima hopes players experience it lightly as a new title
– Releasing in Japan this year
– 60% complete

Volition involved with next-gen consoles, three unannounced titles
Posted on 12 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in General Nintendo, News | 0 comments
Saints Row developer Volition is officially working on new hardware. Studio Audio Director Ariel Gross listed “mysterious next generation of consoles” at platforms he’s involved with on his LinkedIn profile. It additionally states that three unannounced games are in the works, though it’s unknown if all three will be for new systems.
There is a decent shot of at least one of these games arriving on Wii U. Parent company THQ pledged support for the console early on with core games such as Darksiders II and Metro: Last Light. Maybe it’ll bring Saints Row 4 to the Wii U which also appears to be in development for current-gen systems.

The latest issue of Famitsu has revealed a new project announcement from Capcom, with a somewhat odd combination of platforms. A project titled “Ex Troopers” is in the works for both the PlayStation 3 and 3DS according to the magazine.
Ex Troopers is an action-shooter produced by Shintaro Kojima. Kojima has previously worked on the Monster Hunter franchise.
Famitsu describes the game as having the same world view as Lost Planet, but it features anime-esque visuals.
More details will leak out of Famitsu over the next few hours. We’ll post scans as soon as we come across any images.
