ARC RISE FANTASIA FOR NINTENDO Wii GETS RELEASE DATE
Classic Japanese RPG experience filled with humor, drama and action will be available on July 27
Ignition Entertainment Ltd., a UTV Enterprise and worldwide publisher of videogames, and Marvelous Entertainment today announced that Arc Rise Fantasia exclusively for the Nintendo Wii™ will start to ship at retail on July 20 for the suggested price of $39.99.
“Arc Rise Fantasia truly fills a gap in the Nintendo Wii library,” said Nigel Fox, European Head of Publishing for UTV Ignition Entertainment. “It offers a solid JRPG experience for longtime fans of the genre, but also serves as a perfect way to introduce Wii owners to deeper, more engrossing video games. So many people bought Wii so they could work out, but are missing out on games like Arc Rise Fantasia, which offers the drama of a soap opera and imaginative settings of a great film.”
Arc Rise Fantasia delivers a traditional Japanese RPG (JRPG) experience unlike anything currently available on the Nintendo Wii. The game features everything fans of the JRPG genre want out of a classic gaming experience. As the mercenary L’Arc, players must gather friends and allies to defend the peaceful Meridian Empire from a mysterious enemy. But what starts as a struggle to save an empire quickly unravels into a desperate fight to save the face of the planet. Filled with memorable characters, pulse-pounding combat and a sweeping storyline, Arc Rise Fantasia distills more than a decade of gaming tradition into one unforgettable journey.

Sony believes Nintendo has been bashing PS3 glasses tech, wants to work together to promote 3D
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in News, Wii | 15 Comments
“I have hope that they have a broader perspective with 3D. When you listen to what they are saying about the effect of 3D perspective to the games, they are saying the same message we are, but they don’t have to bash some small part of what the other company is doing. I think as an industry we should preach this new perspective, from a very large cinema screen to a small portable, because that helps advancing the games and the game industry. We’d like to work together to promote 3D. If you really want a big theater experience, of course you have to wear glasses. With the latest technology, the glasses are light and you kind of forget you’re wearing them after awhile.” – president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida
Yoshida is most likely referring to Nintendo’s press conference, but I honestly didn’t feel like they were directly bashing Sony’s technology. Nintendo hammered home the point of playing the 3DS without having to wear glasses, but that’s a huge selling-point for them. A lot of consumers just don’t want to have to wear anything extra while playing games.
Direct quotes from Miyamoto on Pikmin 3, nintendogs + cats, interests
Posted on 14 years ago by Brian(@NE_Brian) in 3DS, News, Wii | 2 Comments
The quotes below come directly from the Q&A session of Nintendo’s recent shareholder meeting…
Miyamoto on being busy with the 3DS…
“I get more ideas when I’m busy and with that meaning, this is an extremely good condition now.”
Miyamoto on Pikmin 3…
“Amongst the present promises, I have to finish Pikmin quickly, so production is progressing extremely well.”
Miyamoto on nintendogs + cats, when he said last year that he had a cat…
“For Nintendogs, which we announced at E3, cats will appear this time. Recently, I’ve been taking care of cats. I’m often asked about my interests, but the CEO has told me to if possible not speak about this as the theme of my next game would be known externally. About one year back, I started talking about cats, and right according to schedule, it was announced. We’ll soon be completing Nintendogs + Cats, which features cats.”
Miyamoto on his latest interests/new Nintendo character…
“Also, I’m still full of energy. Recently, I’ve been doing a lot of things — continuing to work hard at swimming, for instance, and also having exchanges with school kids, doing such things a serving on a neighborhood youth guidance committee. I think that next year I can probably deliver something new. I’m still active on the development scene, so please look forward to [my output]. It’s been nearly 10 years since I made the Pikmin character, so I feel this is the year where I must at long last make a new character. This is as far as I’ll answer today.”
Also worth noting, Miyamoto’s time with swimming recently as well as his position as a guidance counselor shouldn’t necessarily be taken too seriously. With the latest information we have from the Q&A session, these two interests shouldn’t be taken to heart like Miyamoto’s cat comments from last year.
