Blizzard on which of their characters they’d want in Smash Bros. Ultimate, Nintendo characters for their own games

Diablo III Eternal Collection on Switch is significant. It’s the first time in close to twenty years that Nintendo and Blizzard have worked together. Now that the two sides are close, there’s naturally one topic to discuss: Smash Bros.

Game Informer asked Blizzard senior producer Pete Stilwell and PR manager Joshua Wittge who Blizzard would like to see as a guest character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Here’s the full exchange:

“Personally, yeah, I’d love to have Diablo. That to me is the immediate one. Then if we had over time, eventually the heroes, go through all of them…or you could go really awesome and only have Deckard Cain.” – Stilwell

“He could just whack them with the cane or put them to sleep.” – Wittge

“Or he puts them to sleep and just slowly drags them to the edge and drops them off. Like really sinister Deckard Cain.” – Stilwell

Stilwell and associate producer Matt Cederquist also weighed in on which Nintendo characters Blizzard would want in their own games:

“Bowser, Bowser would be a sweet dungeon boss.” – Cederquist

“Pig Ganon would be cool. I feel like we’re mostly naming villains, but there’s a lot of classic Nintendo villains. Pretty much any of them would be great.” – Stilwell
