Following today’s announcement of Batman: Arkham Origins and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, pre-orders have opened across all retailers. Notable outlets such as Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop are now taking reservations. Links to both Arkham Origins versions can be found below.

A pair of new Monster Hunter 4 creatures introduced in Famitsu

This week, Famitsu has first information about a couple of new monsters in Monster Hunter 4.
Garara Ayala, according to the magazine, is a snake dragon creature with a giant body. Famitsu also shows Kunchuu in the pages of its latest issue. The creature is a small rhinoceros beetle that tends to gang up on its prey in large group. Typically, it feeds on Yian Kut-Ku.
Famitsu additionally has a first look at the “Unknown Sea of Trees”. Players will encounter Nora Otomo and Piggie at this field.

Fantasy Life ships roughly 300,000 units in Japan

Fantasy Life has moved close to 300,000 units, Level-5 has confirmed. CEO Akihiro Hino provided Nikkei Trendy Net with the update in a recent interview. Shipped doesn’t necessarily mean sold, but Level-5’s new IP certainly seems to be performing well in Japan.
More Fantasy Life content is expected in the future. Level-5 is currently readying a big update for the game, and the company previously revealed intentions to turn the IP into a complete franchise.

Batman: Arkham Origins isn’t the only new Batman game in development. Armature Studio is also working on Origins Blackgate, a new entry in the series for the 3DS and PlayStation Vita.

In the same day in which we were talking about Armature’s canned Mega Man first-person shooter, it has been revealed the the company is working on Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. The 3DS and PlayStation Vita title will offer 2.5-D Metroid-style gameplay that is a standalone experience from the upcoming console game.
Blackgate is set after the events of Arkham Origins. Fans of the Batman franchise can expect a mix of exploration and action.
Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate launches on October 25 – the same day as the console version.
